Below are posts and pictures of our trip to Parsonsfield, Maine

In Parsonsfield, Maine just up the road from the church was this magnificent home. We were fascinated by it because it seemed out of place way out there.

Parsonsfield, Maine

Kevin read about a ghost town in Maine. On Saturday we decided to take a drive up there to check it out. This was the first beautiful weather day we've had in ages. The place had a lovely peacefulness about it, and I had a blast taking pictures. I would have loved to have seen the inside of the church.

Old Town House Cemetary/Parsonsfield, Maine

Behind the old town house parsonage building there was a sweet sounding brook. I spent some moments just standing there listening to the birds chirping and the relaxing sound of water splashing. I snapped the above picture before I walked away. Next, I explored the adjoining grave yard.

I don't make a habit of tromping around grave yards, but this place seemed so peaceful and almost inviting. While I walked around shooting my pictures I was consciously thinking "I'm in a grave yard - I don't want to disturb anyone. I won't stay long." The grave yard was from the 1800's.

Anyway, I was quite startled because when I got home and examined my photos more closely there was a disturbing revelation. The reflection in the little brook seems to have a face or being staring out of the water. The face looks a bit concerned and even stern. I really didn't expect this.
Here is the photo cropped to better show the reflection. There really is a face in the water!!!!

Vistas on the trip to Parsonsfield, Maine

There were spectacular views at some spots along the way.

Yesterday, I awoke to the clearest blue sky I've seen in months. I wish I had taken a picture just to prove to myself there can be days like this in Ipswich, MA.

Anyway, we decided to take advantage of the good weather to drive up to Maine. We started our drive around 12 PM. As we drove there were huge white clouds along the horizon. Then, all of a sudden it looked dark and gloomy up ahead, but as we continued the weather totally improved. There was blue sky with more puffy tall clouds all day in Maine.

When we arrived in Parsonsfield the sky was still blue with those extraordinary clouds. It was sunny one moment and then shady the next with a nice breeze. This made the day very pleasant.

In Parsonsfield Kevin and I poked around the old buildings. I took lots of pictures. The place had a peacefulness about it. Birds chirping, you could hear a brook bubbling in the background.

On our drive back home we discovered a neat diner. Great prices - Sparkling! Clean! and Surprisingly Roomy! It was retro and basically red/white and chrome. I had to take pics because it was beautiful as far as diners go.

The drive home was a downer because we went from good weather back to cool and gray.
The...closer to home the cooler it got. Fog most of the drive home. Oh well.

Along the way....

On our trip up to Parsonsfield, Maine we came across this interesting display along the side of the road. It was so neat I had to stop and snap some pictures. Really clever!!!

Here's the reason my flowering plants have been vanishing!

OK - I admit - he's cute. Still, I'd like to keep my plants out of his tummy because I love flowers.

My yard is animal kingdom - wild turkeys, guinea hens, wood chucks, rabbits. I haven't seen any deer in my yard yet, but there was one across the street this winter. It's just a matter of time before one or two find my foliage delectable! Oh Yes, and of course, an occasional neighborhood kitty lurking in the bushes looking for a bird meal. See what I mean? - Animal Kingdom!

STUFF - Dealing with it.....

I'm attempting to become an organized jewelry maker/creative person.
It seems I'm a natural collector. I have my passions...and interests and curiosities about learning...and therefore - I'm always collecting. I'm on the look out for treasures I can turn into something creative. This goes for jewelry making, painting, garden treasures, and writing, too.

I collect interesting articles, photos, magazine pictures for collage, old jewelry that can be upcycled, beautiful beads, etc. I hunt for sea glass, and shells and small drift wood. I just can't help myself.

I have too many ideas running around my head. All this collecting is great for when I want to make something, but where to put it?
And, once I put it - will ever I find it again when I need it? Now, that is an important question.

Sooooooooo, to start this spring off right I have begun to organize.
Whew, I didn't even know I had so much stuff. Anyway, I'm starting to feel good about this. I can see my art desk again, and I'm getting my beads and jewelry supplies nicely organized. I can't wait to start creating gorgeous jewelry again.

Oh..but there's still more organizing to do.
Maybe, I'll get this accomplished in the next few weeks....I hope.

Am I the only one with this problem???
