PROOF!!

Here's proof that it's really Spring!!!

When I got home from work this Friday...I stepped out of my car and was amazed to find these flowers blooming in my yard. I must have been in a haze this morning because I never noticed them on my way to work. What a good feeling seeing flowers blooming already. Well, I guess it is Spring. It just hasn't felt like Spring weather very much yet.

This last photo is of tulips poking their way through.

Oh yes...And, I saw two Robins this week. Proof we're on our way to good weather...!!

Here's my new "hyplet" electronic business card...Kind of cool...!

Night Deer

OK....I was just about to go to bed when I looked out my front door window. There was a deer across the street. First, I thought it was a large dog, but sure enough it was deer. I tried to take a picture of it....(naturally), but the photos weren't working out very well. I opened the door and the white tailed deer quietly ran away. Oh well....I've never seen a deer in my neighborhood before even though we live across from Willowdale State park.

This second picture resulted from my deer shooting attempt. I just think it looks neat so I posted it.

Morning after the snow

It was so beautiful this morning - I had to take a few pics before work. Of course, I ran out of time to post them, and that's why I'm doing it now.

The sun lit up the tops of the trees offering a morning softness which I tried to captured. There was a peach colored glow which lasted only a short time. I was wishing I had the day to take photos. Everyone seems to be sick of the snow except me. I'm looking forward to good weather, but not all that in between junk we get in the transition from winter to quality spring
weather....and flowers.

Declutter Day

What is it about my computer desk that invites clutter? Right now, I'm determined to get things under control. That includes my bill paying system and file cabinet.

Next project....my art desk. More than anything I need some sort of storage system. It will need to be easy to get at so I can find the right beads and findings and wire quickly. Oh - for a studio where I can spread out and play. Maybe someday.

Here's part of one of my watercolors...

Here is a watercolor painting I did in Maine while on vacation a few years ago. I’m posting it to remind myself to take a deep breath...soon the better weather will arrive and we'll be able enjoy being outside. Sometimes on my way to work I drive past Wenham Lake and it looks similar - serine, and gentle. I love how light and wind change the dynamics of my view of the lake...how everyday the lake has a new face….always lovely. Always new!

Massabesic Audubon hike

Massabesic Audubon

On Sunday my friends and I visited the Massabesic Audubon in NH. A very friendly place! We were offered free coffee, hot cocoa, homemade fudge and cookies as we entered the building.

They have several animals on site who were rescued and are not candidates to go back into the wild - a raven that had been injured, and an owl who was really sleepy. We were told she is more lively at night... They have two turtles named Slowvski - named after the Comcast comercial with the turtles and a snapping turtle named Rita named after an Audubon worker's Mother-in-law. Whew!

We took a super hike on one of the trails. It was a bit slippery walking because the snow on the trails had been packed down. It wasn't really cold, and I enjoyed seeing the reservoir.

At one point I turned and thought there was a wolf, but it was a German Shepard taking a walk with his human family. He did startle me for a moment. There were a lot of people on snow shoes, too. Here are more photos of our Audubon experience...

As we were leaving the audubon I saw a car in the parking lot with this license plate. So, of course I had to snap it....
